Teacher

  • We are hiring a PreK ESE classroom teacher for our Lakeland school for the 2022/23 school year. This position works closely with two paraprofessionals in a classroom of eleven students with special needs. Hours for teachers are 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday while following the traditional school calendar of Polk County. The successful candidate has their Florida Professional Teaching certification in PreK-Primary (age 3 through Grade 3) or Preschool Education (birth through age four), has experience working with infants/toddlers in a preschool classroom setting and must be sincerely interested in educating and working with exceptional children. Paraprofessionals

  • We are hiring classroom paraprofessionals for our Lakeland school for the 2022/23 school year. This position works closely with the teacher and one other para in a classroom of 11 students with special needs. Hours for paraprofessionals are 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday-Friday while following the traditional school calendar of Polk County. The successful candidate has graduated from an accredited high school or has completed a GED, has experience working with infants/toddlers in a preschool classroom setting and must be sincerely interested in educating and working with exceptional children. Early Interventionist

  • The Achievement Academy’s Birth to Three program is currently seeking an Early Interventionist.  The Birth to Three program provides home-based early intervention services to children from birth to three years of age who may be “at-risk” of having developmental delays and/or have been identified with a specific delay.   Understanding that parents are a child’s first teacher, parental involvement is key to the effectiveness of the program.  A successful candidate must be knowledgeable in child development, developmentally appropriate practices and milestones.  A minimum of 1 year of experience working with “at-risk”/developmentally delayed children from birth to 3 years of age or 5 years experience out of field with Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or related field preferred.  Send resume by mail to 716 E. Therapists

  • We are currently accepting applications for hiring two full time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) to service our Lakeland, Bartow and/or Winter Haven Campuses.  All resumes/applications will be reviewed and successful candidates will be contacted for interviews in early July. Therapist hours are 8:30-3:30 Monday through Friday. The Achievement Academy follows the Polk County school calendar including all major holidays and summers off. Candidates must hold current Florida Licensure and pediatric experience is preferred. COTA responsibilities include; following evaluation and plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist, providing 1:1 individual therapy sessions for children with varying exceptionalities addressing concerns in fine motor, feeding, and sensory development, and assisting with completion of all necessary paperwork (data collection, attendance, quarterly progress reports, etc.).
