  • Achievement Academy, Inc. of Lakeland, FL seeks candidates for the position of President/CEO to serve as the overall leader and visionary of the organization.  Under the guidance of the Board of Directors the President/CEO establishes strategies to meet the financial expectations and fundraising needs of the Achievement Academy.   The President/CEO collaborates closely with the Board of Directors to establish the organization’s mission and provides leadership in meeting the mission’s goals. 

    The Achievement Academy, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization that offers two programs to children with special needs who are age 5 and under. Each program is provided at no cost to the child or their family.  The first program is a Charter School that offers specialized instruction by certified teachers to children with developmental delays and disabilities. Our Charter School classes are small; we offer individual speech, occupational and physical therapies to students who need them; and we provide assistive technologies that enable each student to reach his or her full potential. Our Charter School has campuses in Lakeland, Bartow and Winter Haven.

    The second program is a “Birth to Three Program” that provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers – from birth through age 3 – who are “at-risk” for developmental delays or who have been identified with a specific delay. Professional Early Interventionists from the Achievement Academy provide in-home services to these children – and support to their families – throughout Polk County. More than half of the Birth to Three program’s budget is funded by a generous allocation from the United Way of Central Florida.  

    The President/CEO is responsible to the Board of Directors for operations, strategy development and execution, and the growth and vitality of the Achievement Academy. The position requires at least a bachelors degree, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a senior leadership position, preferably in not-for-profit organizational development and operations. Salary negotiable depending upon experience in the range of $75K -$90K.

    This is a unique NFP opportunity.  Achievement Academy is a financially solid organization with a strong and stable Board, outstanding volunteers and exceptionally good support from the community.
